Today was our first day in Ireland. We were in front of the school at half past nine to go to the "Cliff Walk".The Cliff Walk is an amazing, and ancient way between Bray and the next town "Greystones".
This way was developed in 1840's to provide access for materials and workers to the Cliff face during the constriuction of the railway which linked Bray to Greystones.
The railway was planned and built between 1847 and 1856. The site for the railway, along the cliff Bray Head, was a strange decision, but Lord Meath didn't want the railway to divide this estate. Instead, he gave the railway company the cliff route free, but because of geology it is still one of the most costly stretches of railway track in Ireland.
In the middle of the way there was a landslide, so we cuoldn't go to the end but from this point of the way we could see Greystones.
We really liked this excursion and we want to repeat it.
