James Joyce

He was an Irish writer recognized throughout the world as one of the most important and influential of the 20th century, his most important  work was “Ulysses”.
Opinion: He was a very important person but we don’t know much about him.

The Garden of Remebrance

It is  placed in the center of the city and it was designed by Daithi Hanly, and it was built in memory of all  who gave their lives for a free Ireland, the garden tries to be a place to remeber and to think silently. It was opened in 1966 by the president Eamon the Valera , to commemorate 50th  anniversary of the Easter raising of 1916. The central point of the enclosure is the statue of the children of lir, that symbolizes the renaissance  and the resurection.
Opinion: This is a beautiful garden and his history is amazing, the wars between Ireland and England. It’s a really interesting garden.

International Monument

It is an international monument dedicated to the people who were shot in the post office  because of their sublemation against the English goverment.

Opinion: We really like the ball, but it has a tetric history, because it was built about the persons killed for their rebelation to England

Custom House

It was built in 18th century in neoclassic style. During 20th century the building was blown  and was re-built. It is on the bank of the river Liffey.
Opinion: It is a impresioning building, but we only see then when we are outside.

O´Connell Monument.

It is one of the monuments of the O´Connell street. It represents the nationalistic leader of the nationalistic century 19th, Daniel O´Connell, he achieved the catholic independence for the Irish and he fought for the derogation of the record of union of close United Kingdom and Ireland.

Opinion: It is a big statue with a man on top but we think it isn’t very interesting.

Four Courts

It is probably the most important building in Dublin, like the Custom House. It was conceived by James Gandom in 1785.

Opinion: It is a very famous building and we think it is very big and impressing.

Christ Cathedral Church

It is the cathedral of the Holiest Trinity. It is the most ancient of two protestant cathedrals of Dublin. The cathedral started  being a temple of wood. In 1172 the contruction of the current church of stones started. The Church suffered many changes finished with neogotic style.
Opinion: We haven’t seen a lot of the catedral but it is very big and it has beautiful gardens.

Molly Malone
It was a “tart with the cart” she was a saleswoman of fish and she sold cockles and mussels for the streets of Dublin.
